Today's parents face complex issues like discipline, poor friend choices, imbalanced life, time, excessive use of technology, disrespect, lousy decision-making of their kids, connected but disconnected kids, and school problems all the time. The biggest parenting struggles aren't always as much about the child but the parent's challenges of facing issues that are very complex and new to them. Without the support of extended family or community and the experience gained from those relationships, parenting can be a daunting task. Compound that with the parents' voice being drowned out by social media's culture wars, parenting is hard.

As a gray-haired older man, we did not face the same challenges as you while raising our kids. You are a better parent than you might realize. At least, we think so. Parents, grandparents, and guardians often don't give themselves enough credit for their remarkable job in raising kids to become good humans.
