Join us in raising up a generation of students who make an impact in the world for Christ.
Learning a second language is about more than just words. It’s about connection, culture, and expanding the way we see the world.
At Traders Point Christian Schools, our Spanish program introduces students to the richness of the Spanish-speaking world while building confidence in their language skills.
Through engaging lessons, cultural experiences, and interactive activities, students develop an appreciation for global perspectives while gaining valuable communication skills. As we continue to grow, we’re always looking for ways to expand our world language offerings and provide even more opportunities for students to engage with new languages and cultures.
We believe that learning another language is a gateway to understanding, empathizing and creating meaningful connections beyond the classroom.
What Students Experience in our World Language Program
Community
At TPCS, world language students build meaningful community both locally and globally. Through mission trips to Spanish-speaking countries, students form lasting relationships with classmates, staff, and the people they serve. They help build homes, complete work projects, and lead Vacation Bible School programs. As they deliver food and supplies to families in need, students also have the opportunity to pray with them in their homes—bringing hope, encouragement, and the love of Christ to the families they serve.
Culture
World language students experience the richness of Spanish-speaking cultures both inside and outside the classroom. From making homemade tortillas, taquitos, and guacamole to exploring traditional dishes from across Latin America, students get a hands-on taste of cultural learning. Field trips to Mexican grocery stores and authentic restaurants deepen their understanding and appreciation of the diverse communities where Spanish is spoken. All the while, students are immersed in the language—learning to speak Spanish as they experience the heart of its culture.
Curriculum
Our world language students develop the ability to read, write, and speak Spanish through a proven, research-based curriculum. Using a variety of interactive and engaging teaching methods, students build confidence and fluency as they progress. The program is intentionally designed with a clear scope and sequence, beginning in middle school and continuing through junior high and high school—ensuring a strong foundation and continued growth at every stage.
Cognition
World Language at TPCS isn’t just about language—it’s also a workout for the brain. Our teachers are passionate about how the mind works and how students learn best. Backed by research, the benefits of learning a second language are clear: improved memory, sharper focus, stronger problem-solving skills, and greater mental flexibility. As students engage with Spanish, they’re not only expanding their communication skills—they’re strengthening their minds for a lifetime of learning.
Communication
TPCS world language students grow in both confidence and skill as they learn to communicate in Spanish. Through interactive classroom activities and conversations with native Spanish speakers—including guest speakers from the community—students practice real-world communication in meaningful ways. Most importantly, they develop the ability to share the love of Christ in another language—one of the most beautiful and impactful outcomes of their learning.
