What I’ve been up to since graduation:
Since graduation, I went to undergrad at Bellarmine University to study nursing. I spent a lot of my time studying, was an RA on campus, playing intramural sports, and became a nursing tutor. I went to Southeast Christian Church while there. I moved back to Indy to pursue a job opportunity at Eskenazi Hospital in Critical Care. That year, I met my now husband, Brandon, and perfect puppy, Moki. We got married 2 years later and moved to Whitestown. I went back to school and pursued a Master's degree in Nursing Informatics and moved into administration. Our son, Ashton was born on Christmas Eve in 2021. Since then, we've moved to Zionsville, switched jobs a few times, and spent lots of time traveling and exploring all around Indy. We are members at Traders Point Church and Ashton is in the EC at TPCS. I am coming up on my 10 year anniversary at Eskenazi Hospital, where I am now working in the Trauma Department as a PI Coordinator. We still love to travel, spend time with friends, go to sporting events, and try out new restaurants in our free time.
Recent milestones or accomplishments:
Other than having and raising Ashton, I am proud of being a recent graduate in the latest Rooted class with my husband at TPCC. It hasn't been easy to carve out time dedicated to growing in our faith together while both working full-time and raising Ashton, so I am proud of the fact that we dedicated 11 weeks to this and will continue to grow together with our small group.
How TPCS prepared or influenced me in my journey:
My time at TPCS has shaped my life in so many meaningful ways, but the greatest gift it gave me was the value of perseverance. There have been many moments since graduation when giving up felt easier, whether that be in school, relationships, or work, but I've carried with me the lessons and encouragement I received at TPCS. I knew I had a community within TPCS cheering me on and believing in me, even from afar. I'm especially thankful for teachers and staff who took time to talk with me about life after graduation and reminded me that while the easier or more popular path might seem tempting, true growth comes from staying faithful and finishing what you've started. My journey has been far from perfect, but TPCS helped me understand that the things worth pursuing don't always come easy, and storing treasure in heaven is far more meaningful than anything this world can offer.
Favorite memory or takeaway from my years at TPCS:
I have many fond memories in the 12 years I spent at TPCS, but when people ask me what life was like at TPCS, I always reflect on the little memories that turned into deep, meaningful relationships that have taught me how to be intentional in my friendships in the future. We all bonded at school spending 8 hours a day with each other, but we got to experience so many different things outside of the classroom that drew us close. From Kings Island trips, to Nicaragua, to coffee shop, English class, and all the things in between. Those are the memories I hold dear.
