Drew Algate

What I’ve been up to since graduation:
I married my wife, Hannah, in 2021, and graduated from Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 2022. In August of 2023, we moved to Mooresville, Indiana, where we bought our first house. I’m currently serving as the Youth Pastor at Thrive Church. Most Sunday nights, you’ll find me hanging out with middle school students, playing games, building relationships, and teaching them about Jesus. Recently, we’ve also stepped into an exciting new season as Hannah became the Children’s Director at our church, and we’re expecting our first child!

Recent milestones or accomplishments:
Buying our first home, stepping into full-time ministry, and starting a family have been big milestones for us over the past year.

How TPCS prepared or influenced me in my journey:
Traders Point had a big impact on my spiritual and academic development. The decision to take the more difficult classes in high school made my college experience much easier. I think I ended up with four or five fewer classes to take because of what I’d already completed at TPCS. AP Literature especially prepared me for college-level writing, which proved invaluable in my degree program.

More importantly, conversations with leaders and chaperones during our Nicaragua trip helped shape my calling into vocational ministry. That experience, along with the daily encouragement and genuine care from teachers and coaches, helped me grow in my faith and see how God might use my life to serve others.

Favorite memories or takeaways from my TPCS years:
Some of the most impactful moments at Traders Point weren’t in the classroom, but in the small interactions in between - teachers stopping to ask how things were going, coaches encouraging me to work hard and stay committed.
