APPLIED SCIENCES

The School of Applied Sciences is designed for students who desire an in-depth, hands-on understanding of careers in the fields of engineering, robotics, manufacturing/logistics, computer programming, aviation, and more. There are three distinct tracks to choose from; Aviation, Computer Sciences, or Engineering.

Aviation

Traders Point is proud to partner with LIFT Academy and Republic Airways to offer our students the unique opportunity to explore a career in aviation while still in high school. Students who enroll in the LIFT program at TPCS have the ability to earn up to 100 flight hours prior to graduation with a preferred pathway to employment at Republic. Regardless of whether a student is interested in becoming a private pilot, a commercial pilot, or an airline maintenance technician, the LIFT Academy program at TPCS offers an accelerated pathway to a successful career in aviation.

Computer Science

PLTW Computer Science empowers students to become creators, instead of merely consumers, of the technology all around them. The program engages students in collaborative projects that help them develop in-demand computer science knowledge as well as transportable skills like creative thinking and communication. And whether they’re creating an online art gallery or using automation to process and analyze DNA-sequence data, PLTW Computer Science students are seeing how their learning connects to the real world.

Engineering

From launching space explorations to delivering safe, clean water to communities, engineers find solutions to pressing problems and turn their ideas into reality. PLTW Engineering empowers students to step into the role of an engineer, adopt a problem-solving mindset, and make the leap from dreamers to doers. The program’s courses engage students in compelling, real-world challenges that help them become better collaborators and thinkers. Students take from the courses in-demand knowledge and skills they will use in high school and for the rest of their lives, on any career path they take.
